With today’s market of reprocessed EHI can same the buyer a great deal of money. The majority of the repo or bank owned homes being offered are striped down missing fixtures, cabinets, doors and have not been maintained. Although the price of a repo home may seem like a steal the cost of repairs may be staggering . Just a short time ago the average time it took for an inspection was two to three homes, we find ourselves spending twice that amount of time in reprocessed or bank owned homes. Many of the homes we are inspecting have mold, or mold like substances present and no money available for repairs offered by the Repo Company or Banks. SO BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

In Southern Nevada, Las Vegas and surrounding areas of Clark County and St. George Utah, EHI offers Mold Testing and Mold Inspections along with other Environmental Assessments and concerns.

In The Mesquite Nevada area we have found there to be a great deal of retired and elderly with many different types of breathing ailments as well as many going through hospital stays and surgeries returning home for recuperation. In many insistences EHI finds that the patients are coming down with Staph infection and breathing difficulties. We like to believe that we listen to and are concerned with peoples needs. EHI has discovered through discussions that many elderly people are complaining about their energy bills being out of control and difficult to pay on a fixed income.

After spending some time in Mesquite and St. George Utah EHI discovered that most homes of the elderly are closed shut in the summer time due to the extreme heat and during the winter months due to the cold. There are very few months out of the year when windows and doors could be opened up for ventilation- out with the old and in with the new. Most homes in Mesquite, Nevada and the St. George, Utah area have carpeted homes throughout except kitchens and baths and being closed up from the exterior is a receipt for air quality concerns, along with the elderly have less than efficient immune systems, not to mention going through a illness or hospital stay.

So EHI has set out to address some of these concerns.

  • Mold Testing and Inspections Including Clearance testing for Mold Remediation Companies
  • Infrared Camera –Thermograpy used for moisture intrusion and energy voids in walls and ceilings as part of an energy audits
  • H.E.L.P. (healthier environmental living program) inspection and testing for MSAR, Staph bacteria and mold and mildew and the use of antimicrobial agents to fight off the super bugs and infections caused by mutated strains that are antibiotic resistant and where toxic house cleaners no longer are effective.

EHI has been performing Mold Inspection, Mold Testing and Mold Removal using the state of the art Mold removal equipment, Dry Ice Blasting since the beginning of 2003. http://www.diamonddryiceblasting.com/dryicecleaninguses_moldremed.php

Infrared Cameras

Thermograpy is now used in energy audits to show where insulation is missing in walls and ceilings, overheating electrical circuits and wiring, gaps at windows and doors, heating and air conditioning leaks in ductwork, faulty roofs and sheathing, water leaks in concrete floors, hot spots in appliances, and water intrusion caused by water pipes leaking in walls or water intrusion from the exterior. The water intrusion areas are a concern due to mold growth. Mold starts growing after s substance has been wet for 48 hours and mold grows at a tremendous rate. Once EHI can see an unusual moisture condition then we can test that area for mold types and amounts. We also use a moisture meter in that area to determine the saturation level.

H.E.L.P. (healthier environmental living program) www.healthierprograms.com
